Art and passion arguably go hand-in-hand. For sculptor Paul Rhymer, the passion for art was something innate from childhood – perhaps sparked by his grandparents and parents who were all artists.
“I’ve been doing [art] since I can remember,” Paul said. “I started out doing a lot of painting and drawing, then got into sculpture.”
After graduating with an associate’s degree in art, he took a job with the Smithsonian Institution doing taxidermy and model making. Paul held this position, doing three-dimensional work for the museum, for more than 25 years.
His time at the museum coupled with his passion for birding and waterfowl hunting has shaped his artistic style and inspires his sculptures today.
“I love translating my experiences with animals and wildlife, and seeing what I can do with that in creating sculptures,” Paul said. “I like the creative process…and I love the influence of other artists and how that’s changed my work.”
Paul uses the labor-intensive lost wax process to create his bronze works, and it’s evident passion is behind each masterfully crafted piece. Aside from his love for art and wildlife, Paul said being around other creative minds also fuels his passion.
“Being here at the Celebration of Fine Art is wonderful because there’s all of these incredibly talented people here, and I’m already working on some collaborative pieces,” he said.

Rob’s career took many successful paths primarily in the health care field as an administrator and consultant. Twelve years ago Rob decided to use his wonderful gift of creating art that was realized at the age of six. A decision he has never regretted and one that has brought great satisfaction and inner peace.
All of Rob’s paintings are original works of art. Every piece is unique and a “one and only”. His contemporary southwest/tribal depictions of Warriors and Shamans are paintings of his very own tribe to honor and give respect to the many people who walked the earth before us. Each piece portrays great strength and spirit with a bit of whimsy.
Rob creates abstract paintings that include color studies based on his love of modern architecture and landscapes inspired from his many years of traveling. His pieces are extremely detailed and portray great depth and texture using many layers of paint to create a strong, colorful and vibrant effect. His paintings may be contemporary yet fit with all decorating schemes and decors. Rob’s “Tribe” continues their 10th year of existence at the 2012 Celebration of Fine Art. Is it your year to add a piece to your collection?
Rob’s daily words of inspiration, “Never let the odds keep you from pursuing what you know in your heart you were meant to do.”

J. R. Eason was born on a rural Idaho ranch. She works in her home studio where it is delightful as she disconnects from everything. Her figures and their individual expressions are brought from her own mind, without the use of models or photos. J. R.’s self-taught spirit brings her bronze sculptures to life.
