As we enter our second week of the 2009 Celebration of Fine Art, we are pleased to say that we are getting rave reviews from our visitors. We’ve seen many familiar faces and we have also welcomed many new collectors to the Celebration of Fine Art family! We are truly grateful for the many positive comments about the show and we look forward to having many more art lovers join us now through March 29, 2009. We are open seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm. Enjoy some sights from the first week and a half of the show!

It’s just before midnight on Thursday, January 15, 2009 as I write this post. On Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10 am, our doors will open for our 19th Annual Celebration of Fine Art. The artists have been working like crazy to get their studios ready for you. When they arrive each year, they have 2 walls that are a blank canvas. They have 4 days to paint and build out whatever they want (with a few restrictions – for instance, no second stories!). They add light bars and carpet and whatever they need to showcase their art and create a work space that they will settle in to for the next 10 weeks. Then they begin hanging or displaying their works of art.
The creative energy fills the air. Between the hugs and greetings from fellow artists, strategic planning and focused work, the display area in the tent transforms into the most beautiful showcase for the talents of 100 artists that you’ve ever seen. This year we shot a little video of what it looks like “the night before”! Click on the link below to see just what it feels like at about 9:00 pm on the eve of opening.
In just a few days we will be welcoming guests to our 19th Annual Celebration of Fine Art. The artists are checking in today (Monday). Each of them will paint and prepare their studios to display their works of art and settle in to their home away from home for the next 10 weeks! Paint brushes and rollers will be working wildly (not the kind you create beautiful art with, but the kind you paint walls with), hammers and saws will be filling the air with the symphony of set up! It’s a very exciting time at the tent – one that involves very little sleep. We do all of this so we can transform an empty lot into a beautiful art show.
Original Artist Rendering of the Celebration of Fine Art
